Information on symbolism and Freya herself!

Freyja, most renowned of the Norse goddesses, who was the sister and female counterpart of Freyr and was in charge of love, fertility, battle, and death. Her father was Njörd, the sea god. Pigs were sacred to her, and she rode a boar with golden bristles. A chariot drawn by cats was another of her vehicles. It was Freyja’s privilege to choose one-half of the heroes slain in battle for her great hall in the Fólkvangar (the god Odin took the other half to Valhalla). She possessed a famous necklace called Brísinga men, which the trickster god Loki stole and Heimdall, the gods’ watchman, recovered. Greedy and lascivious, Freyja was also credited with the evil act of teaching witchcraft to the Aesir (a tribe of gods). Like the Egyptian goddess Isis and the Greek Aphrodite, Freyja traveled through the world seeking a lost husband and weeping tears of gold. She was also known by four nicknames—Mardöll, Hörn, Gefn, and Syr.

☼ The symbolism of the white cat eyeliner I did is based upon Freya's own cats Bygul and Trjegul that accompany her. Freya, the Norse goddess of love and fertility, has a captivating and enduring association with felines in Norse mythology. These enigmatic creatures played a significant role in Freya’s tales and were believed to be her loyal companions and protectors throughout her journeys. Freya’s association with cats in Norse mythology reflects their magical qualities, their role as protectors, and their symbolism in Norse folklore.

☼ The lines in between the eyes is Freya's name written out in Runes, which is the Germanic alphabet or Runic alphabet. Runes are also used for divination and as a means of contacting other planes of existence {Like tarot cards, and pendulums}.

☼ Color symbolism is also a thing in Norse mythology. in this makeup I have the colors that are associated with the goddess Freya. Gold, the light of the sun and spiritual light shining from Asgardhr, a symbol of reputation, honor, and the power in all realms. Red, magical might and main, protective power, spiritual life and vigor, aggressive force. Black, new beginning (as night and winter herald the birth of day and summer), all potential, the root of all things, knowledge of hidden things, concealment, and the container of light.

☼ I hope you enjoyed the little facts and understanding of this makeup and meanings of symbols!
